February has arrived, marking the start of an exciting and busy season for our athletes! We are thrilled to share that all spring sports are now in full swing, creating a buzz of excitement that will last until May.
Last week was truly remarkable for South Pike athletics, and we can't wait to build on that success this week! 🎉
A huge congratulations to our girls' and boys' basketball teams for clinching their regular-season district titles! 🏆 It's been over a decade since we've celebrated such victories in basketball! A heartfelt thank you to Coach Candace Felder-Hall and Coach Reginald Chambers for their incredible leadership. Our teams will head into this week's district tournament at Jefferson County High School as the #1 seed, competing on Thursday at 4 PM and 5:30 PM. Let's rally behind our Eagles! 🦅 💚 💛
Additionally, let's give a shoutout to our girls' powerlifting team for their amazing performance at the MHSAA Class 3A Region 4 Powerlifting Meet, where they brought home 11 out of 12 trophies! Kudos to Coach Varnado! This Saturday, our boys will host the MHSAA Class 3A Region 4 Boys Powerlifting Meet right here in the Willie E. Jones Coliseum.
And don't forget, our baseball team kicks off their season with a scrimmage against Salem this Saturday at 10 AM. Best of luck to Coach Caston, Coach Pattie, and the entire team!
